Welcome to Kettering Amateur Swimming Club

Kettering Swimming Club is the premium competitive club within Kettering and the surrounding areas. We are a dynamic and exciting club with a long and proud history. Originally based at the Victoria Baths in Bath Lane Kettering, we moved to our present site on London Road in 1984.

Founded on the 15th of December 1914 the Kettering Men’s Swimming and Water Polo Club had 40 swimmers and 20 committee members. Membership to the club at the time cost 2 shillings and 2 pence (around 12.5p) and pool hire for 1 gala was 1 Guinea (about £1.05). Today’s galas take a minimum of 3 hours pool hire and it costs £60 per hour.

Coaches

Mark Lee - Head Coach

I have been a swimming teacher & coach for the last 22 years.  I was Head Coach at Kettering from 2004-2008 & returned in 2012 with aim of developing all the swimmers to their full potential & having a good community basis which attracts young swimmers into the club.

SWIMMERS OF THE MONTH

This month there are 4 Swimmers of the month -  Beth Williams, Beaux Dodson, Nayan Gilboa-Way & Paul Ile are all new members of the Platinum Squad. Having recently moved Squads, all 4 swimmers have worked really hard over the last few weeks adapting well to the additional training sessions and much harder schedules. They have all shown great determination and commitment - well done!.

Junior Swimmers of the Month:
Max Jeffs - At the beginning of the year Max was moved up to the Development 2 squad. Since doing so Max has shown excellent effort levels in training and his stamina and strength have increased because of this. He has also been working on his technique and is showing improvements here too; especially his Breaststroke. Keep up the hard work Max!
Lizzie Ogletree - Lizzie has shown increased levels of effort and committment to training since returning from the Christmas break. She is keen to continue to improve by taking on feedback from her coaches and trying her best at sessions. Well done Lizzie!

Anniversary Corby Open Meet

KASC have been invited to enter the Anniversary Corby open meet in October this year.

It is going to be a popular event so we thought it would be a good idea to get entries in early so we get a good chance of all our swimmers attending.

Please see the attached information and entry forms which will need to be returned to Hilary Reed or your coaches by May 15th along with a cheque made payable to Kettering Amateur Swimming Club.
This is a Level 3 licence meet so suitable for the majority of swimmers and the upper time limits are shown in the attachment. We will be doing an electronic entry via the sportsysytem so entries are £4.50 per event.
