Welcome to Kettering Amateur Swimming Club

Kettering Swimming Club is the premium competitive club within Kettering and the surrounding area's. We are a dynamic and exciting club with a long and proud history. Originally based at the Victoria Baths in Bath Lane Kettering, they moved to their present site on London Road in 1984.

Founded on the 15th of December 1914 the Kettering Men’s Swimming and Water Polo Club had 40 swimmers and 20 committee members. Membership to the club at the time cost 2 shillings and 2 pence (around 12.5p) and pool hire for 1 gala was 1 Guinea (about £1.05). Today’s galas take a minimum of 3 hours pool hire and it costs £60 per hour.

Claire Simms – Junior Head Coach

I am currently a qualified Level 2 Swimming Teacher and Level 1 Swimming Coach. I have been coaching with the club for about 12 years now. I took over the responsibility for the Junior section of the club in September 2012. I have been swimming with the club since the age of 8 and over the past year I have enjoyed resuming my training and competing with the club once more.

Swimmers of the Month

Swimmer of the Month - From this month onwards I will be picking two swimmers for this section – one boy and one girl.
Junior Squad Swimmers of the Month
Charlotte Mair & Sam Smith
Charlotte has always trained hard during sessions and has made some great improvements in her strength and stamina.
Charlotte was offered the opportunity to progress to the next squad during the last squad review and since doing so has
Already moved up a lane within her new squad. Keep up the hard work!
Sam has also moved up a squad this year and has coped very well with the increased training levels. He has continued to make improvements with his strokes and always tries his best. Sam has also started competing for the club this year and has grown in confidence within the competitive atmosphere. Well Done!

Senior Swimmers of the Month - This month I have chosen 2 swimmers to be “Swimmer of the Month”. They are Cameron Johnson
& Lewis Morgan Barton
Both these lads have come back to swimming after the summer break & displayed a great
attitude to training. They work hard each session & have taken to pushing themselves
against each other in the 50m dash nights. This has resulted in their respective times
coming down.
Both are great examples of what training hard with the right motivation can achieve.

Leicester Autumn League

Thanks to all swimmers and parents for attending the first round of the Autumn league held at Market Harborough. The first
gala of the season and all swimmers gave 100 percent in performance. This is proved in 21 personal bests achieved on the night. A special mention to those of you who
swam in their first gala I hope you enjoyed it and will swim again. We came 4th overall but you will see with 1 DQ we could have so easily been 2nd overall. These
things happen and I am proud of the achievements on the night. Thanks to poolside helpers and officials as always couldn’t be done without you.
Lets look forward to the rest of the season and keep up the good spirit. Results can be found on the members tab under results.
