Welcome to Kettering Amateur Swimming Club

Kettering Swimming Club is the premium competitive club within Kettering and the surrounding area's. We are a dynamic and exciting club with a long and proud history. Originally based at the Victoria Baths in Bath Lane Kettering, they moved to their present site on London Road in 1984.

Founded on the 15th of December 1914 the Kettering Men’s Swimming and Water Polo Club had 40 swimmers and 20 committee members. Membership to the club at the time cost 2 shillings and 2 pence (around 12.5p) and pool hire for 1 gala was 1 Guinea (about £1.05). Today’s galas take a minimum of 3 hours pool hire and it costs £60 per hour.

County Championships 2015

It is time for the County Championships that are to be held at Corby pool over 7/8th Feb, 21/22nd Feb and 1st March 2015.

There are many changes to the format and schedule this year which I have listed:

1, 50m and 100m events to have finals

2. All events to have sub age groups and to be swum as separate events, eg 10/11-12 years, 13-15 years and 16+

3. Age groups are 10/11 years, 12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15 years and 16+.

4. Age is at 31st December 2015 not age at time of gala

5. There will be NO BAGCATS. Medals will be awarded to all age groups for each event.

6. Entries are £5 per event

Attached are the schedule, qualifying times and entry forms which must be returned by the Sunday 11th January 2015 which leaves me (and Amanda) only 10 days to input everything on the computer entry system.

When completing your entry form it MUST HAVE:

A full name

ASA number

A valid qualifying time for your age group

The correct entry number for your age group (please see the swimmer and key guide with the order of events)

The correct fee in cash or a cheque made payable to Kettering Amateur Swimming Club

ANY ENTRIES WITH MISSING INFORMATION WILL BE REJECTED BY THE COMPUTER SYSTEM

I appreciate this is fairly complicated, so any question/queries about this please email me or ask me poolside. Having said that, this is a great event to be part of and I do encourage all of you who have qualifying times in any events to enter,

If you have any questions about which event to enter or unsure about times please discuss this with your coach.

Many thanks

Tom and Hilary Reed

Leicester Autumn League

Thanks to all swimmers and parents for attending the first round of the Autumn league held at Market Harborough. The first
gala of the season and all swimmers gave 100 percent in performance. This is proved in 21 personal bests achieved on the night. A special mention to those of you who
swam in their first gala I hope you enjoyed it and will swim again. We came 4th overall but you will see with 1 DQ we could have so easily been 2nd overall. These
things happen and I am proud of the achievements on the night. Thanks to poolside helpers and officials as always couldn’t be done without you.
Lets look forward to the rest of the season and keep up the good spirit. Results can be found on the members tab under results.
